CITROËN SALES RESULTS, FRANCE : First-quarter 2014: increase in volumes and market share

With over 75,000 PC +LCV registrations in the first three months of the year, CITROËN growth outstripped the market’s, up 6.2% compared with 2.1%, and increased its market share 0.5 points to 14%. The performance was driven by the Brand’s momentum in PCs, in particular the success of the CITROËN C3 and New C4 Picasso, the leading compact MPV. CITROËN also scored success in LCVs, consolidating its number-two ranking.

Commenting, Philippe Narbeburu, Managing Director of CITROËN France, said: "At the end of first-quarter 2014, CITROËN is enjoying a strong sales momentum, both in volumes and market share. Our PC + LCV registrations increased 6.2%, outperforming the market’s 2.1% rise. We also grew our market share 0.5 points on first-quarter 2013, to 14%. This is an encouraging start to the year for the Brand.“The Brand put in a strong performance in PCs and LCVs alike:o In PCs, CITROËN grew registrations 6.3% in a market that expanded 2.9%, increasing its market share 0.4 points to 13.2%. These positive results resulted from:? the success of the New CITROËN C3, sales of which were up 34.9% in the first quarter,? the appeal of the New CITROËN C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso, the leaders in the compact MPV segment with over 12,000 registrations since the start of the year.o In LCVs, Brand sales rose 6% in a market that contracted 1.6%, for a 1.3-point increase in market share on first-quarter 2013, to 18%.
