CITROËN E-MÉHARI WARMS UP THE C_42 VENUE
Spring’s here at last, and the thermometer at Citroën’s international showcase venue on the Champs-Elysées in Paris already reads C42°. Perhaps that’s why C_42 is all decked out in the tangy colours of Citroën E-Méhari. With summer seemingly on the doorstep, visitors are warmly invited to check out Citroën’s latest, alongside its illustrious forebear, Méhari, which dates back nearly half a century. At the same time, they’ll enjoy the art gallery, special features like the ball pool, and the brand new Food Truck ‘Le Café André’. Refreshing!
Though spring’s hardly poked its nose round the door, visitors to the C_42 venue are charming to the C42° temperature and the refreshing summer-like colours of Citroën E-Méhari, the latest arrival to the Citroën stable, holding court alongside the legendary original Méhari, launched back in 1968!
A COLOURFUL START TO THE SEASON, WITH E-MÉHARI AND MÉHARI
Citroën E-Méhari is celebrating the new season at C_42 with cars in four colours: Clockwork Orange, Grand Bleu, Yellow Submarine and Beige de Jour. Not to be outdone, there are three original Méharis: a beige one from 1969, a green one from 1971 and a yellow one from 1981.
A TASTE OF SUMMER, WITH A BALL POOL AND AN ANIMATED SOUVENIR PHOTO
Visitors young and old to the ‘C42°’ event will also love the foretaste of summer, marked by sunny special features such as the ball pool in the basement, or the E-mmersion feature on the first floor, alongside the Grand Bleu E-Méhari. Visitors just climb on board the car to get their photos. The tree pictures are combined into an animated GIF file that they can email to their friends or post on Twitter.
‘LE CAFÉ ANDRÉ’, A TYPE H FOOD-TRUCK CONVERSION
Another new seasonal surprise, in the basement alongside the ball pool, is the Citroën Type H converted into a food truck. It’s based on the ‘Café André’ concept previewed at the Citroën stand at the Geneva Motor Show just a couple of weeks ago. Café André will be serving visitors fresh food for breakfast, lunch or a mid-afternoon snack. This new C_42 service is run with Le Refectoire.
ART GALLERY AS TRENDY AS E-MÉHARI
On the top floor, C_42 is opening the new season with an original gallery spotlighting artistic creativity. It will be hosting various artists, starting with Le Tone, leading light of the French Touch movement in the nineties, with his hit "Joli Dragon". After a musical career spanning 15 years, Le Tone gradually shifted more to illustration work, exhibiting at some major events such as at the Centre Pompidou in 2011. His work takes a sensitive, offbeat, spontaneous angle on the society around him. The automobile interest in his work dates to when he began co-compering the TopGear France programme in 2014. So it’s only natural to find the artist illustrating his vision of Citroën at C_42. Le Tone will be performing live on Tuesday 29 March from 11:00 to 18:00 and on Thursday 31 March from 16:00 to 19:00.
